PERSHORE BASED PROPPA GIVES A HELPING HAND TO LICHFIELD SCHOOLCHILDREN

Youngsters in Lichfield are discovering their engineering prowess by building two brand new buggies bought by their school.

Staff at Shenstone Lodge, in Birmingham Road, called on the help of the UK’s leading online auto accessories retailer Proppa to provide state-of-the-art buggies in a dismantled form, rather than selling them assembled and ready for use.

Over the summer term Key Stage 3 pupils at the school, which specialises in the care and education of children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, will build up the buggies ready for use in races.

Staff at the school are also planning in the longer term for the children to build an off-road track as a proper racing facility for the buggies.

Mel Keating, Key Stage 3 Co-ordinator at Shenstone Lodge, said: “We are thrilled that Proppa was able to help us.  This is an exciting project for the children which also brings in key elements of English, Math’s and Science. In a series of weekly sessions the children will be working with a retired engineer, Dave Egerton, who will give them guidance in putting the buggies together.

“The plan then is to keep assembling and dismantling the buggies with every new group of children as they reach Key Stage Three. They will be of tremendous benefit to the school for many years to come.”

Adam Weaver, Founder and Managing Director of www.proppa.com, said: “It is unusual for us to deliver buggies in a dismantled state but of course we are happy to oblige. We are delighted our products will be helping children at Shenstone Lodge develop their engineering skills and hopefully reach their full engineering potential.”

BUSINESS START UP SCHEME WELCOMED...PART 2

BUSINESS START UP SCHEME WELCOMED
BY YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR AND DRAGONS DEN WINNER

PART 2...THE FINAL INSTALMENT

“For any venture to be a success it needs our young business men and women, most of whom will probably have no previous experience in running a company, to be able to seek support and guidance as they look to build solid foundations and this is where the work of Start-Up Britain is crucial.”

Around 270,000 new businesses are formed in the UK every year. Under Start-Up Britain new firms can seek freelancers on contractor payroll, allowing flexibility, rather than taking on permanent staff.

As part of the scheme entrepreneurs receive expert support and advice worth £1,500. The scheme will extend into schools and universities as it seeks out the business men and women of the future.

Start-Up Britain has the backing of leading companies including Virgin Media, Microsoft, BlackBerry and Barclays.

Prime Minister David Cameron and the Confederation of Business Industry (CBI) have also publicly backed the scheme.

Adam said: “In principle it is an excellent venture and just what Britain needs to get the economy going again. Managed in the right way it will help tens if not hundreds of thousands of aspiring business men and women get their businesses off the ground.

“I know from my own experience a scheme such as Start-Up Britain would have greatly benefited me. Thankfully Proppa is financially very healthy now but a scheme such as this could have prevented me from making a few mistakes along the way, saved me from sleepless nights and shown me a more direct route to where I wanted to take the company.”

Adam was just 26 years old when he launched Proppa five years ago. In a short space of time Proppa has grown to become the UK’s leading online vehicle accessories retailer.

With a 25-strong workforce the company today enjoys a £3.5 million turnover and profits in the region of £500,000. Based in Pershore, Worcestershire, Proppa operates out of a 25,000 sq ft warehouse.

INNOVATIVE TURBO CLEANER PROVES A POPULAR CHOICE WITH PROPPA CUSTOMERS

INNOVATIVE TURBO CLEANER PROVES A POPULAR CHOICE WITH PROPPA CUSTOMERS
Proppa Wages Battle Against Fuel Costs with Innovative Products to Make Your Fuel Go Further

The UK’s leading online supplier of niche auto accessories is reporting a soar in sales of diesel engine cleaner Innotec Turbo Clean.

Adam Weaver, Founder and Managing Director of Pershore-based Proppa, said bottles of Innotec Turbo Clean were flying off the shelves and it was now one of the most popular products in stock.

Use of Innotec, which consists of five different products, can help prevent problems with diesel engines, such as contamination and seizing.

As well as cleaning the engine it also helps improve power and fuel consumption, contributing towards a longer life and all important with today’s crippling fuel costs.

Adam said: “As well as being very easy to use Innotec Turbo Clean is fast and effective. For some reason sales seem to have been on the increase so far this year – maybe motorists are tightening their belts and seeing Innotec Turbo Clean as an investment – but our customers are giving great feedback about the product on our website.

Innotec Turbo Clean consists of five different products.

  • Turbo Clean 1 dissolves carbon deposits in the turbo or catalyst
  • Turbo Clean 2 neutralises Turbo Clean 1 and rinses it, together with the carbon and dirt residues
  • Turbo Clean 3 cleans the fuel system and the motor’s combustion chamber. It improves the performance of the motor and turbo and provides excellent protection against new carbon deposits
  • Turbo Clean Tube is a long tube designed to enable the easy application of Turbo Clean 1 and Turbo Clean 2. It also enables easier cleaning of turbos and catalysts which would otherwise be difficult to reach
  • Turbo Clean Card seals the turbo, enabling a thorough cleaning after Turbo Clean 1 is applied.

BUSINESS START UP SCHEME WELCOMED...PART 1

BUSINESS START UP SCHEME WELCOMED
BY YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR AND DRAGONS DEN WINNER
PART 1

A new private sector-led scheme set up to promote entrepreneurialism in the UK has received a cautious welcome by the boss of the leading auto accessories retailer.

Adam Weaver, a 30-year-old former Dragons Den winner, said Start-Up-Britain – a scheme devised to kickstart economic recovery – was a fantastic scheme in principle, helping savvy entrepreneurs achieve their dreams and ambitions.

But with four out of five businesses collapsing before they have even taken off, he said those who took up the scheme would need ongoing support and advice from leading business men and women so their ventures didn’t fall at the first hurdle.

From his own experience Adam learned good management of cash flow was the lifeblood of any company, whether new or long established. Without proper management of cash flow a company exposes itself to the risk of going under.

He said: “Perhaps like thousands of other entrepreneurs out there I learned this the hard way. From my own experience I believe the first lesson a scheme such as Start Up Britain should teach is the importance of maintaining a healthy cash flow.”

He said although schemes such as Start-Up Britain will give any budding entrepreneur a glimmer of hope for a bright future, new businesses still face a bigger headache than perhaps five years ago when he launched his own company Proppa. The latest round of public sector cuts, increase in VAT, rise in fuel and living costs, and the banks’ reluctance to lend money, has all added to increased competition reinforcing ‘survival of the fittest’ mentality.

He added: “There is no doubt new ventures are one of the best ways to give the economy the boost it needs. But the first few years are the toughest in any business as employers seek the right people for the right jobs and look to build its customer base and reputation.

PARKING SENSORS COULD HELP REVERSE THE RISING COST OF YOUR CAR INSURANCE

PARKING SENSORS COULD HELP REVERSE THE RISING
COST OF YOUR CAR INSURANCE
The Gadget that Pays for Itself Says Online Vehicle Accessories Specialist -  Proppa

Parking aids such as cameras and front and rear audible sensors not only reduce the likelihood of an accident and resulting repair bill but can also protect and potentially even increase the value of your vehicle.

That is the verdict of Tony Allen, Group Chairman of award winning insurance intermediary, The A&A Group Ltd, who said millions of pounds are wasted each year in needless accidents in which motorists reverse into lamp-posts, walls, bollards and even pedestrians or other vehicles.

By making an initial investment in a parking aid motorists could save themselves hundreds of pounds several times over as the sensor prevents unnecessary damage to the vehicle.

Every year insurance companies across the UK are inundated with thousands of claims worth millions of pounds from motorists who have backed their cars into bollards, walls or even other vehicles or pedestrians as they try to park the vehicles with precision.

And it is believed that for every reverse parking claim received by insurance companies, there are many more cases that go unreported as motorists prefer to stump up the cash themselves, rather than lose their no claims bonus.

Tony Allen said: “Parking sensors are excellent devices which can not only save you a few hundred pounds in the event of even the most minor of accidents, but can also actually add, or at least protect the value of the vehicle, which would otherwise be affected in the event of an accident. They are excellent devices which enable to park their cars with complete precision and in total confidence.”

Adam Weaver, Founder and Managing Director of leading online auto accessories retailer Proppa said sales trends within his business backed his belief that many motorists were waking up to the fact that making the initial investment in parking aids would save them hundreds, if not thousands of pounds in the long term.

He said: “It is annoying when you’re reversing slowly into a space and you hit something because you’ve misjudged the distance or the angle, or even more frustratingly, because something is moving at the back of your car.

“I think many of our customers who invest in parking sensors have been caught out in this way and have come to us to prevent similar accidents in the future.

“They have realised that for a small investment in a sensor they can save themselves a lot of inconvenience and stop lining the pockets of their insurance companies.”

Proppa stocks a range of sensors. They detect other vehicles, trees, people or other obstacles at the rear of the vehicle and allow you to calculate the distance.

Adam said: “If your parking sensor prevents you from having just one accident then it will have paid for itself – avoiding at the very least the £100 excess on your insurance, and at best avoiding injury to a pedestrian.”
Proppa also offers a fitting service for the device.

To see the range of parking sensors log on to www.proppa.com or call Proppa on 01386 556656, alternatively, send us an email for further details.

IDEAL HARD TOPS TO KEEP ALL YOUR TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT SAFE IN THE PICK-UP

IDEAL HARD TOPS TO KEEP ALL YOUR TOOLS
AND EQUIPMENT SAFE IN THE PICK-UP

With their robust build and ability to handle every driving condition imaginable pick-up trucks have proven popular among builders in the UK from the early 20th Century.

Also recognised as popular fashion accessories and ideal family cars when not in business use, there is no end to their versatility. They are immensely popular among builders who use them not only to accommodate work but also their family life.

It’s a growing trend which has been picked up by online auto accessories retailer Proppa – the UK’s sole distributor of market-leading Sammitr SMM hard tops.

Adam Weaver, founder and managing director of Proppa, was so impressed with the quality of Sammitr’s range he struck an exclusive deal to retail their hard tops and related accessories.

It’s a business decision which has gone down well with Adam’s customers who rely on the hard tops for total security of their materials and equipment.

Sammitr is the only producer in the world which makes steel canopies for pick-up trucks. They are produced from metal sheet coated with a 0.8 mm thick, anti-rust treatment, and use a similar paint technology to that employed within the vehicle assembly industry. Like pick-up trucks themselves, the canopies are known for their strength, safety and elegance as well as their low weight, durability and environmental friendliness.

Proppa can provide these innovative and high-quality hard tops for a range of vehicle manufacturers including Ford, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota. They are also available in a range of colours.

Adam said: “The SMM canopy is unique in its construction as it is manufactured from galvanised steel, just like a card body. This means that the SMM hard top is stronger than a fibreglass canopy and the hardtop rear door is very strong as the glass is bonded to a metal frame.

“But the quality of the SMM range doesn’t stop there. They all come complete with central locking, making them not only the most well-made hard top on the market, but also one of the easiest to lock securely.

“I would only recommend using a trusted retailer for hard tops – Sammitr is the best.”

Launched in 2006 Proppa has grown to become the UK’s leading online vehicle accessories retailer.

At the age of just 26 Adam Weaver started the business as a one-man band operating from home. The business quickly grew and today he employs a 25-strong workforce which operates out of a 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Pershore, Worcestershire.

PICK UP MAJOR CASH SAVINGS WITH A PSI POWERBOX Cut Fuel Bills by Up to 20%!

PICK UP MAJOR CASH SAVINGS WITH A PSI POWERBOX
Cut Fuel Bills by Up to 20%!

A revolutionary product that improves the efficiency of pick-up trucks is being stocked by leading auto accessories retailer Proppa.

The PSI Powerbox is an innovative system which significantly enhances the vehicle's performance.

By simply plugging the engine cables into the PSI Powerbox, engine speed is increased by at least 15 to 20 per cent, offering massive savings on fuel efficiency.

It is a straightforward plug-in kit that takes around 10 minutes to fit and can be removed easily, so it will not void any manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee.

Adam Weaver, founder and managing director of Proppa, said: “Most people buy pick-ups out of necessity because they need lots of storage but still need space for their workmates.

“Unfortunately, this can come at a cost. Where a little diesel van or runaround does 50 miles to gallon, you will be lucky to get 25 miles to the gallon from a pick-up.

“The PSI Powerbox can save you 20 per cent on your fuel costs. If you were to do 100 miles a day, that adds up to over £500 a month worth of fuel.”

Adam has so much confidence in the product that he has installed it on all of Proppa's vehicles.

In particular he has been astonished by the performance increase on the Nissan Navara D40.

The RRP of the PSI Powerbox is £455 but Proppa is able to offer it at £375, a saving of £80.00.

Proppa is also offering a 30 day money back guarantee.

Launched just four years ago, Proppa has grown to become the leading online vehicle accessories retailer in the UK.

SOARING FUEL PRICES A THREAT TO RECOVERY

SOARING FUEL PRICES A THREAT TO RECOVERY

Fresh from the shock of hearing this week that the UK’s economy is still not in recovery motorists and businesses now face another devastating blow – rising fuel prices.

With petrol rocketing to a record high of £1.28 a litre and diesel reaching nearly £1.33 a litre, pressure is growing on the Government to act.

The Coalition Government is being urged not to go ahead with a planned increase in fuel duty in April’s budget and instead honour an election pledge to introduce a fuel tax stabiliser.

Joining the debate is Dragon’s Den winner Adam Weaver, founder and managing director of Proppa, the leading online niche vehicle accessories business.

Adam said: “These crippling fuel prices will literally stop a chunk of the population in their tracks – there is already evidence that people are using their vehicles less often because they can’t afford to fill up.

“Former Transport Minister Steve Norris once said: ‘If the wheels ain’t turning, you ain’t earning” but this phrase now rings hollow as fuel prices are prohibitively high and still rising.

“It would be a travesty if the Government ploughs ahead with the planned increase in fuel duty in April. If they want to keep UK Plc going, they need to bring in a fuel tax stabiliser and a fairer system.

“Both diesel and petrol prices have gone up by more than six pence a litre in just one month – that’s a huge threat to businesses and the UK’s recovery.”

Adam has fitted the whole of his company’s fleet with a device, the PSI Powerbox, that can significantly enhance engine efficiency and save up to 20 per cent on fuel bills.

He has reported a rise in interest from customers in the plug-in device, which takes only 10 minutes to fit and works by boosting engine speed. He is retailing them at £337.50.

Figures including London Mayor Boris Johnson and television presenter Quentin Wilson have joined the call for a fuel tax stabiliser, and AA President Edmund King has warned that “many drivers cannot afford to fill up”.

Transport Secretary Philip Hammond has admitted soaring fuel prices are “a problem” for motorists, giving hope to campaigners for a fuel tax stabiliser.

CELEBS PICK UP ON LUXURY

Stars are shunning limos, sports cars and extravagant 4x4s in favour of pick-up trucks, according to a leading online auto accessories retailer.

Celebs like footballer David Beckham, country music megastar Taylor Swift and Twilight actress Kristen Stewart have all been seen with the iconic vehicles.

Proppa.com founder and managing director Adam Weaver said: “Pick-ups combine casual cool with luxury and practicality, therefore it’s no surprise that these personalities have discovered the joys of owning them.

“Modern trucks are a far cry from the utility vehicles beloved of farmers and tradesmen. As well as being versatile, some are incredibly stylish and comfortable, like the popular Nissan Navara.

“They are ideal for drivers with families, as well as outdoor enthusiasts and those who love sports like golf and cycling.

“And the wide range of accessories available allows extensive customisation to the motorist’s needs and taste.”

One of Proppa’s best sellers is its range of market-leading Sammitr SMM hard tops.

Sammitr is the only producer in the world which makes steel canopies for pick-up trucks. They are produced from metal sheet coated with a 0.8 mm thick, anti-rust treatment, and use a similar paint technology to that employed within the vehicle assembly industry. Proppa can provide these innovative and high-quality hard tops for a range of vehicle manufacturers including Ford, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota. They are also available in a range of colours.

Adam added: “Pick-up trucks are evolving and entering the mainstream. We’ll see more and more hit the streets as people pick up on their style, utility and comfort.”

Launched in 2006 Proppa has grown to become the UK’s leading online vehicle accessories retailer.
